Thoughts from 2013
From time to time, I have thought about how I would like to email our leaders with some suggestions and thoughts about how they might do things differently regarding what they say and how they present.
As an older citizen, I have studied these things over the years and tried to model best practices when speaking and delivering messages. That was part of my job. However, be it personal weakness or cop-out, I have never bothered because essential leaders seem to be surrounded by a bevy of people who should be doing that sort of thing anyway.
Old people like me see things, but we also know or believe that our leaders, years and years younger with advisers years and years younger, don’t want to know.
Notwithstanding, there are things about seniors that go to the perception that our younger leaders might well apply to their advantage.
Would I be doing the right thing, or would it be downright stupid, impetuous, or foolish to email or contact our leaders? Do they get constituent messages, or do minders siphon off these?
To me, however, there is often a major disconnect between Canberra and Australia beyond its famed parliamentary halls.
In my opinion, a meeting could be organized to discuss new things that could be adopted, always after listening to everyone’s opinion.
