Social media contributes hugely to our community in both positive and negative terms. As an old one, I am glad it is around, for in many respects, it has added a dimension to our communications capacities. However, irresponsible and, at times, nefarious use does nothing but detract. We often play ‘catch up’ with those who abuse communication avenues. Penalties for hacking and misuse are minimal, and abusers are often accorded quasi-hero status.
