Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.
I can garden, do housework, write, tell stories, use my imagination, sing, drive a car, grow pawpaws, communicate with others, stick to a timetable, help my grandkids, remember birthdays, and join in with the successes of others.
But there is one thing that I am totally and utterly hopeless and that is“Do it yourself” tasks.
I am utterly useless when it comes to construction, maintaining a car engine, building furniture, plumbing tasks, putting in irrigation systems, fixing electrics, assembling purchased appliances – and the list goes on.
Do it yourself, I am hopeless and lost on this front. No DIY task is too big because they are all too big.
After reading this, I got up to see if I could fix the switch for our garage door opener. The UP button has to be pressed really hard for it to work. I went to the garage, realized I needed a light, got my phone to use to illuminate, realized I needed a screwdriver, then decided to wait till it’s warmer outside or maybe when my wife feels better, or maybe just call someone over to fix it.
I can do these things. I just don’t like to do them.
Come on Henry, this isn’t serious: that’s what specialists are for ☺️
