  1. Do you realize his priorities are horrible for us citizens? He wants to give billionaires additional tax cuts on the backs of poor and middle class people who depend on government assistance to survive? Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I’m not sure where you are getting this idea that he is some kind of world savior. Jesus wept.

    • Susan, I do not disagree with your thoughts and think that the Big Beautiful Bill is over the top. You will recall my approach to Australian PM in recognising him in alter ego terms? This is my take on Donald Trump to some extent. But it is sadly true that the court being paid to Donald Trump is totally over the top and sycophantic.

      • Thank you for your thoughtful reply, Henry. Today is a very sad day since they passed that bill. What is happening here re immigrants is horrifying. And they just increased the ICE budget from 2.1 billion to something like 120 billion.

        I dream of a country where politicians are not owned by wealthy people, but at this point, it’s a bit of a pipe dream since our system is rigged.

        With our special needs son, we do rely on Medicaid for his health insurance. Should he lose it, we maybe able to find an alternative, but there are many for whom it is a lifeline.

        If I were running the world, rich people would he taxed at 100% for anything over 50 million dollars of wealth. To me, the rich paying their fair share is *the* place to focus but with the exception of a small handful of politicians (Bernie sanders, AOC, maybe a few others), they are all corrupt.

      • Susan, I often worry about where the world is going. I feel increasingly vulnerable living in Northern Australia. Internally, crime is rife and from an external viewpoint, I constantly reflect upon the fact that we are sleepwalking to war. Australia’s vulnerability cannot be overstated. I worry about this for our children and grandchildren.
