I believe this to be the result of government ineptitude and skewed policies aimed at Muslim and Palestinian appeasement and an almost playing of favourites in this region of world affairs.

HAMAS, remember, praised Australia on more than one occasion for its pro-Palestibisn position on the Middle East issue.
