These days authorities and organisations try as hard as they can to make things as difficult as they can for people to transact their way through life particularly if you’re a couple who have been together for a hell of a long time. If one of you has Dementia and the is their carer,  any obstacle that they can throw in the way for both the person with the Dementia and their carer is put there so that you have to jump through hoops and over hurdles in order to try and manage the situation which so increasingly complex. 

It used to be simple once upon a time when trust and love were part of the equation but these days there so much legalese  about everything that the whole issue  just becomes bloody  impossible and incomprehensible to understand. 

If doesn’t help much when you’re dealing with people on the telephone whose level of  English is just not there. It’s all bloody hopeless.
