Precipice Ever Looming

There is significant fragility and growing uncertainty around educational leadership in 2026. Indeed, that uncertainty extends to all organisations and all branches of leadership. Nobody in the top echelons of leadership trusts the perceptions of those whom they lead. They feel insecure, and their tenure seems to be ever more uncertain. 

They feel that those looking up toward the positions they occupy hold for them anything from indifference to downright hostility for the job they are doing.

 The interactions between leaders and subordinates are based on uncertainty, a great deal of suspicion and jealousy of others that often simmers just below the surface.. The unanimity and one-man-ship have gone by the by. There is no trust. There is ever more distrust. There is no certainty.
