LABOR MUST REMOVE THIS DEPRAVED SUPPORT WEBSITE FOR PEDOPHILES
I don’t think I have ever had to write about something so wrong and depraved as this, but it must be exposed.
Quietly in April, the Albanese government paid $10m to launch a website for would-be pedophiles.
Called “StopItNow” Australia, the website dangerously normalises sexual fantasies about children and despite the outrage it has caused, the government is refusing to remove it, instead declaring that it’s part of a broader strategy to reduce abuse.
But you be the judge, because this is some of the content from a website that you as a taxpayer are paying for.
“Don’t beat yourself up. For many people, it simply does not feel realistic to never have sexual fantasies about children or to end masturbating to the thought of children,” it says.
The website notes that “asking you to replace a child in a fantasy with an adult may not work for you”, so “rather than trying and changing your sexual interest, your task is to learn how to best manage your sexual thoughts, feelings and fantasies”.
Seriously? Where the heck is the advice – in flashing lights – to seek urgent help, that abusing a child is a criminal offence?
Worse still, there’s a module linked to the StopItNow website that all but admits pedophiles can’t be helped.
It reads: “Some people who have a sexual attraction to children want to change this attraction.
“There is some debate about how effective this change can be and some might suggest it is akin to the historical use of such practices for altering homosexual interests.”
I have never come across anything as depraved as this being funded by taxpayers.
Sexual fantasies about children are “a wave” that will pass, the website says. It advises would-be abusers to go for a walk, do a puzzle, and close your laptop (all but confirming the access of online child sex abuse is occurring).
And this, too: “Compassion and self-acceptance can also be very helpful. Having a sexual interest in children can feel lonely and you may feel society doesn’t understand your situation.”
Understand your situation?
We do. And we are appalled that not only does this website exist, seeking to normalise some of the most heinous behaviour there is, but that taxpayers are funding it and the Albanese government is defending it.
As Opposition child protection spokesman Senator Matt O’Sullivan said: “The protection of children must come first … The starting point must be unequivocal: child sexual abuse is reprehensible and criminal, and anyone at risk of offending must seek professional support immediately.”
This website must come down.
