Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
A tribute to these pairs of shoes which have walked up and down and around and around.
Everywhere
Locally Darwin
Around the Territory
In Cairns and Queensland
South on the Stuart Highway
In Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs
These two pairs of shoes have walked
Have moved quickly as legs allowed
But they ran less the older they became, in sync with their owner’s age.
Here, there and everywhere,
Where would I be without shoes,
Absolutely and enduringly hobbled,
For without shoes and going barefooted,
I am cactus.
My feet cannot make contact with the ground for they hurt too much.
Yes, I am at Tenderfoot,
Although my shoes are old, They have given me strong and sustained mobility.

Out (with thanks for meritorious service) with the old.
Now for my new shoes.
